This is what I got this week. I'll take it! I don't mind sharing. :)
Japan!
Mom!!!!!!! I am doing great! Okay, My companion is Nelson Shimai. She is on her
last transfer and I love her! She is really good at cooking and she takes care of
me. We work SO HARD! My first area is... (drumroll please) Fukuoka, Fukuoka! I am like 20 minutes away from the Mission Home, and we have the biggest area (like a 3 hour bike ride from one end to the other. At first I was worried that President
Gufstafson was worried about me so that's why he put me so close to the mission
home, but I have come to understand that it is a huge responsibility to have this big of an area, with so many members in our stake and we have a lot of
investigators for the mission- about 9. I am working hard! Our apartment (don't be mad, but I didn't have time to take pictures... so next week) is the biggest apart-ment in the mission, and it's just me and Sister Nelson. We live like queens. It is traditional- with a genkan (where you take off your shoes at the door) and a
sleeping area with sliding doors and tatami mats for the floor. I sleep on a futon and I actually love it! Our toilet is fancy and has an automatic seat, and it
talks... but it's annoying, so we turned that part off.......... yep. The shower is not made for someone my height. The faucet is set at about 5feet 4 inches. I feel like Buddy the Elf wherever I go. I mean, I'm not really super tall, but I am to
Japanese people. I feel bad for these tall American Elders.I have hit my head on a couple doors! I got my bike today! It is super steki (cool, attractive). We ate
lunch at a cute place, but we accidentally sat in the smoking section, so that was kind of gross. I am doing good. Lots to adjust to, but I am handling it pretty
well. My jet lag wasn't that bad- you just have to work through it. I am sleeping
normally now. The members are so sweet and they give us food every day. They LOVE the missionaries! We sat behind this family with cute little kids. I love Japanese babies!!!!!!!! So kawaii!
Please ask me questions, because if I try to explain how everything is different
it will take too long. Just know that I am so happy and that I love you!
